Grace Louise Barlow Brown

Grace Louise Campbell was born in Selma, Alabama, to John Wilson Campbell and Lassie Bryant Campbell. She now rejoices in Heaven with her loved ones who preceded her in death: Fred Barlow, Sr., Henry Brown, Miriam "Cookie" Barlow, and Fred "Skeet" Barlow, Jr. Grace is lovingly remembered by her sister Naomie Craighead; her sons, Ricky Barlow (Clarita), and Ronald Brown; her daughter-in-law, Sharon Barlow, and her god-daughter, Jearldine Fitzgerald. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren; Francene Craig, Nicolette Harper (Durwin), Marques Barlow, Shawnell Johnson (Will), and Jasmine Barlow, as well as her great-grandchildren, Brijae Harper, Jasmine Livingston, Jo'Sean Snell, Nico Harper, Marco Harper, Savannah Johnson, and Everleigh Johnson--along with a host of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and extended family. After traveling a great deal of years through Europe, including Germany and England, the family settled in Fairfield, California. Grace returned to college and earned her Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Solano Community College. She dedicated many year of shaping young lives as both a preschool teacher and as a receptionist. A lifelong learner, she enjoyed studying Child Development, Black History, and Human Anatomy. Grace's love of reading fueled her curiosity and deepened her understanding of the world around her. Grace's family and friends fondly remember her southern home-cooked meals, a tradition and love that has been passed down through generations. Grace cherished time with her family and loved bringing everyone together for holidays--especially Christmas and Easter which were her favorites. She had a vibrant personality, outspoken, and expressive, and full of warmth. Her wisdom, infectious laughter, and unforgettable wit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Later in life, she was known for her fiercely independent streak. She was the unapologetic matriarch of the family. Her faith in God was the cornerstone of her life, shaping her love for others, her joy, and her unshakable strength. Since 1984, Grace had been a devoted member of the Lighthouse (now known as the City Church) of Fairfield, California where she faithfully served in the children's ministry and participated in numerous women's leadership Bible studies, addiction and recovery programs. We invite all who loved Grace to join us in celebrating her beautiful life and lasting legacy. She will be deeply missed, and will be forever in our hearts. While there is not public viewing her Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 04, 2025 at 11 AM at the City Church located at 743 East Tabor Street, Fairfield, CA. Burial will be in the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, CA 95620 at a later date.
