Gabriel Garnett Griffin

Gabriel "Gabe" Griffin went home to be with the Lord on February 22, 2023. Gabriel was born on June 19th, 1982 in Denver, Colorado to Connie Barron-Griffin and Alec Griffin. Gabe grew up and lived most of his life in Fairfield, California. Gabe played football, baseball, and basketball all throughout his school years and was encouraged by his dad to be the best that he could be. There was something about being a part of a team that Gabe enjoyed greatly. Gabe loved the water, so much that he even took up competitive swimming for a short time. During the last few years of his life Gabriel moved back to Colorado, where he started taking both of his grandmas to church. Grandma Emma on on Saturday's and Grandma Barbara on Sunday's building his relationship with God, volunteering his time to the church and creating true meaningful relationships and friends. Gabriel gained a love for being outdoors and hiking finding courage to take paths he had never been on before. He was an enthusiastic 49'ers fan, loved music, dancing, a proud business owner of U-Call-We-Haul and cherished his beloved Tahoe truck and trailer. Gabriel joined the Army in 2002 after the attack on the twin towers on 9/11. He was a proud soldier of the US Army serving two time periods. First was with the US Army Infantry101st Airborne in S. Korea at the DMZ border where he earned his Infantryman Badge/ Air Badge and the 2nd time with the HHC 1st/178th Infantry Battalion where he was assigned to the Reconnaissance Platoon and was deployed to Afghanistan in the Hindu Kush mountain range near Pakistan. Here he served meritoriously his unit and encountered many engagements with the enemy as well as supported his fellow soldiers with comradery. Gabriel was always an upstanding and outstanding soldier where his sergeants and officers had high respect and regard for Gabriel. This is where Gabriel earned the Combat Infantry badge, Army Commendation Medal and a National Defense Service Med while deployed to Afghanistan. Upon returning home, Gabriel was always a source of Strength for his fellow soldiers to call on when dealing with their post deployment traumas. Gabriel enthusiastically was no shame loud and proudly cheered on and supported his six-member squad (his kids) throughout all their sports and school activities. Gabe's greatest joys in life came from his six kids and his mom, who Gabe knew whether was with him or not she was always looking our for his best interest and loved him unconditionally. Gabriel was preceded in death by his grandfather Dean Garnett Griffin, uncle John Barron and first cousins Desiree Barron, Samantha Martinez and his beloved dog Chica. Gabriel Garnett Griffin is survived by his six children: Gabriella, Giannah, Jazlynn, Gabriel Jr., Noah and Jordan. His mother Connie Barron-Griffin, father Alec Griffin, sisters Domonique Harris, Taylor Griffin, brother Nicholas Griffin, brother-in-law Brandon Harris, four nephews Prince, Amir, Ezekiel, Machir Harris, grandmothers Emma Barron, Barbara Griffin, four bonus children Darjea, Amaya, Kimora, Alexis, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many other loving relatives and friends.
